Making America Exclusive Again

Posit: A goal of the Trump Administration and MAGA is to make America a country led by wealthy whites, unopposed by diversity of any kind.

To me, this concept offers important perspective on many of the Trump Administration’s actions over 2025. Here are five examples I believe support the proposition.

1. Expiration of federal tax credits for the enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson (R-LA) refused to bring the bill for extending income tax credits for ACA participants to the floor for a vote, causing expenses for coverage to more than double for most of the program’s participants, which are primarily low-to-middle income individuals. For many, coverage through the ACA is their only option because they’re not covered by employer health plans, or are small business owners themselves. Roughly four million are expected to be pushed out of the insurance market entirely. Nearly six in ten ACA participants live in the south, in Republican congressional districts. The Pew Research Center also found that a similar number of low-income voters are Democrats or lean toward voting for Democrat candidates. 1, 2, 3

Application: Denies healthcare to lower income citizens. Those with serious illnesses will not survive, which also reduces the number of Democrat voters. Plus, the ACA provides protections against sex discrimination in healthcare, so making the ACA out of reach also places those protections out of reach.

2. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

The U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been performing raids across the nation. 90% of detainees are Latinos and Hispanics, and in so doing only half of all detainees have no criminal record. Migrant blacks are deported at a rate 400% higher than their representation among migrants as a whole. The federal budget infamously reserved some $11BB USD for ICE operations which was a staggering increase over previous years. Furthermore, ICE agents are widely known to be unnecessarily abusive to the people they detain, trampling on citizens’ Fourth Amendment rights. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Tweet from the DHS account touting “remigration,” which is “a European far-right concept of ethnic cleansing.”

Application: Removes non-white immigrants from the country, which prevents naturalization and eventual political alignment with Democrats.

3. Trump Tariffs

Leading Democrat Senators from the Senate Committee on Banking and the Senate Finance Committee began investigating Mr. Trump in April of this year on suspicion that his tariff announcements were a means of stock market manipulation, allowing investors to buy while the market was low. Indeed, the S&P lost over U.S. $5TT in value over four days. Meanwhile, the tariff announcements sent shock waves through the broader economy, affecting consumer prices and kindling fears of recession. 9, 10

Application: Low-to-middle income citizens become disproportionately affected by rising prices and unemployment risk, while the wealthy can afford to take advantage of stock market opportunities. Quite literally, the rich get richer while the poor become poorer.

You’ve probably already identified a huge irony in that statement — so much of the MAGA masses would themselves be excluded from the ideal population.

4. Suppression of Gay Rights

Among the flurry of Executive Orders signed by Mr. Trump upon his return to the White House was one which mandated a return to the binary system based on sex at birth, and another which suspended federal funding for gender-affirming care. Schools can’t even teach gender- or equality-related ideologies. 11, 12, 13

Apparently Trumptopia will have a zero-tolerance policy for homosexuality.

Application: Denies healthcare and other rights to homosexual and trans citizens, who typically don’t vote GOP. This one comes straight (forgive the pun) from the PROJECT 2025 playbook, and the matrimony between the religious right and conservative politics.

5. Suppression of Voter Representation

Mr. Trump once said, over a hot mic, that a very high priority was to get rid of mail-in voting because, without that, the Republicans would never win another election. Republicans are attacking voting legislation at every level, because data suggests a strong correlation between GOP voters and voting in-person, and Democrat voters and mail-in voting. The strategy is simple: GOP lawyers are arguing everything possible to disqualify every mail-in vote they can because fewer votes for Democrats means relatively more votes for the GOP. Another tactic that became very popular in 2025 was bald-faced gerrymandering of voting districts. Texas was the first to do it — asked by the Trump Administration to create several additional Republican districts. California then countered, threatening to do the same for the benefit of Democrats. 14

Application: suppresses opposition to Republican domination.

Joe MAGA

When President Trump campaigned on “traditional values,” it seems what he had in mind differed from the picture it painted in the minds of his supporters. He wasn’t talking about mid-20th century, church on Sunday, bake sales, and Leave it to Beaver-values. He was talking about 17th century traditional values, when wealthy white men owned and ran everything and everyone else was inferior — THAT kind of traditional values.

About eight in ten MAGA voters are white, male, and identify as Christians (three in ten identify as Evangelicals). Two-thirds of them do not have college degrees, most were aged 50 and above. Some reporting suggests the majority of MAGA voters are low-income earners; some suggests about half are middle income earners. Especially interesting to me was a note that suggested Joe MAGA has a real thing about reverse discrimination and programs to help “even the playing field” for nonwhites. 15, 16, 17

Conclusion

With Joe MAGA in mind, I submit these five points are sufficient to satisfy the proposed position. Mr. Trump and his MAGA government intend to increase their odds in elections at every level by removing every opportunity for Democrats to win any sort of representative position in state or federal government going forward, leaving Republicans — a political party dominated by wealthy white men — without opposition.

Every economic and political advantage will be available to the ruling class. No relief will be afforded to anyone else. Not gays, not women, not Hispanics, not Blacks. Schools will teach what conservatives want them to teach; universities will be available only for the wealthy, for MBA programs and the like; reformed from the “hotbeds of liberalism” some are considered to be today. Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security will all disappear, as will the entire middle- and lower economic classes. Those who can will leave for life elsewhere. Those who can’t won’t get far.
