Unconfirmed reports suggest that the reason the Trump Administration joined Israel in attacks on Iran was because Israel was blackmailing Mr. Trump over the Epstein scandal.
The scuttlebutt is that Israel had unredacted copies of some percentage of the infamous trove of information and threatened to release them to the public unless the U.S. assisted Israel in attacking Iran. Reporting from Middle East Eye suggests, based on a U.S. intelligence assessment, that Mr. Trump was “compromised by Israel.” Though the method isn’t clear, it suggests the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, may be the tie. 1
The only comment I could possibly add to this is that I don’t doubt Israel’s intelligence services have obtained the data — either through collection from U.S. federal databases or because it was passed directly from Mr. Epstein. I also don’t doubt that Russia’s intelligence services have not only obtained it too, but have passed some percentage of it on to Iran — and that Iran could be threatening Mr. Trump using the similar leverage as Israel. Having said that, it’s important to understand that disinformation is an important component in testimony to the court of public opinion. 2, 3, 4, 5
At present, I am unable to substantiate reports that the Epstein Files were actually used to coerce the Trump Administration into action against Iran. However, based on the limited research presented above — Epstein and Kushner’s separate connections to Israel and the trove of information Epstein collected on powerful people — including and especially Mr. Trump — I would opine the notion that Israel could have coerced Mr. Trump into ordering the attack is plausible.
At the same time, would I bet against the idea that the Heritage Foundation was lobbied by Israel to ensure Iran was a target for the U.S. State Department in Project 2025? Nope. We’ve previously established the entire network of conservative think tanks is a machine that produces policy positions that reflect the desires of those who fund their operations. (Examples have previously included big-name corporations like Microsoft, Phillip Morris and Walmart; why couldn’t Israel join the party?) 6
